PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
August 20th to August 26th 2007
MONDAY August 20
Bouncing back
How low will it go? How long will it last? I recently made great play of the fact that Venus was about to turn retrograde. Though you might expect a reversal of the prosperity planet to signal a slump in the stock market, historical evidence says otherwise. The greatest rises and worst crashes follow another celestial rhythm. So all I warned of, last month, was a 'sudden change in the value of an established commodity'. I'm sticking with that. There may be bigger problems in years to come, but from this crisis at least, I predict a swift recovery.

TUESDAY August 21
We are all psychic
Dear Jonathan,
While I was out, a neighbour called round. Around the same time, I thought about her and, though we have never spoken about this, I wondered if she was planning to chop down a tree in her garden. Two days later the tree was felled. Yesterday I was due to collect my son but decided to ring first as I suspected he had made another plan. He had. I cannot explain this
Ruth
Dear Ruth, You are not alone. Indeed, I think the folk who never experience this are the minority. Most, though, don't talk about it.

WEDNESDAY August 22
Invisible triple-conjunction
Though the Sun, Venus and Saturn are millions of miles apart, they now appear close together. Or rather, that's how they would look if we could see them! Venus and Saturn are currently up when the Sun is up and the Sun floods the sky with so much light that we cannot see the planets and the stars. This invisible triple-conjunction suggests an opportunity for those who are willing to work 'behind the scenes'. Creative ventures, labours of love and efforts to attain financial stability can all be successful - as long as they are undertaken with noble motives.

Love under the microscope
Though the Sun, Venus and Saturn are millions of miles apart, they now appear close together. Or rather, that's how they would look if we could see them! FRIDAY August 24
Lending money
Dear Jonathan,
How can you tell if someone is scamming you? Someone I don't know well asked
me for money. I helped him but now fear I will never get repaid.
Paula
Dear Paula,
It never harms to help someone, even if you doubt their integrity. Better to
be free with the benefit of the doubt than to be too closed up. Just never
give more than you can afford to lose, and point out that if you are not
repaid, you will not be able to help the next needy person you meet. Leave
it to their conscience.

SATURDAY August 25
Hidden Power
Next week, I will have a special announcement to make about a momentous change in the celestial situation. This week? Well, you can hardly call it a calm before the storm. At full Moon, little ever stays calm for long. We might, though, consider it the grand finale before the new and gentle dawning of a different era. If you read many of this week's forecasts, you will see that they have a common theme. I am having to talk a lot now about hidden power; the kind we have but don't always acknowledge. Soon, whether we choose it or not, we will find that change comes into all our lives. That's something to embrace, not fear.
