Letters about the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius
Dear Jonathan, I wrote to say the Aquarian Age starts in 2046. Then you said 'many astrologers expect 2046.' But only I say that. HD HuffmanDear HD, Sorry. I mistook 2046 for 2062. Jonathan Dear Jonathan, The Age of Aquarius began with the Steam Engine. Read Sri Yukteswar's Holy Science. Misho Dear Jonathan, The Maharishi Mahesh Yogi says the Age of Enlightenment began in 2006. Steven Dear Jonathan, Some people can't accept that the Aquarian age has already started but astrology merely provides a blueprint. We're the builders. They should stop expecting a flash of light and a poof. Adrian

Christmas conjunctions, alignments, and transits
A bright, pinky red Mars can now be seen soon after sunset if you look south-east. Around 10pm, a golden Saturn follows slowly upwards. Look for the light that twinkles less than the stars around it. The Waxing Moon is in Aries tonight, setting around 2am. Little can compensate anyone for being up at 5am but if anything has that power, the sight of bright Venus might. As we head towards Christmas, a series of wonderful multiple conjunctions, alignments and transits await us. Meanwhile, somewhere on the 54th parallel of Planet Earth today, a bald astrologer turns 50!

Jellyfish is the Christmas Comet!
Yesterday, I provided a list of fine things that can now be seen in the sky. In amongst a bright Mars, early in the evening, a Saturn just before bed and a Venus in the dawn, I forgot to mention the giant jellyfish in the North-East. Nobody knows how much longer it will remain visible. Nobody knew it was going to be visible in the first place. Holmes is, though, now officially, a Christmas Comet. I'm taking the next two days off to do a spot of seasonal stargazing. My colleague, Kathryn Cassidy will be here tomorrow and Friday. PS Thanks to everyone who wrote in to wish me a happy birthday. I had a splendid day, thank you. My six year old daughter says I am half a hundred now.

Your Week Ahead
Happy er.... Merry um... Well now, what exactly ARE we all supposed to be celebrating this week? The baby Santa, born in a reindeer's stable at the time when the rising Sun changed direction along the horizon? The Jesus who turned over the moneylenders' tables so we could all run up credit card bills to celebrate his birthday? Is this Christmas? Xmas? Saturnalia? Or the Solstice? Whatever it is, the planets suggest that, this year, more people may feel inclined to question convention than ever before. That's no bad thing.
