TUESDAY February 6 A matter of time... Dear Jonathan, Everyone is making so much of this Mayan calendar ending in 2012. But maybe it doesn't mean anything. I have a 2007 planner and in the back of that it gives me three more years. That does not mean that I think the world will end in 2010. Maybe the Mayans figured 5,000 years was all they needed for now and they'd make another later. Holly

WEDNESDAY February 7 Love's young dream Dear Jonathan, Something strange has happened. There is this guy I am in love with, but since we live continents apart I have never done anything to take our friendship to another level. Last night I dreamed of him and me, having fun and laughing with his mates. This afternoon (which was morning for him) he called up saying he had just dreamed of me. He said it was him and me and couple of his mates. Does this mean anything? Harshita

THURSDAY February 8 There's a ghost in my house Jonathan, At my present home and in previous homes, I have seen what some people might call ghosts. Are these actual entities or images appearing through time? Regards, Karen
Dear Karen, |
FRIDAY February 9 Look up there! Venus has been the first twinkling light in the West after Sunset for a while. Below it to the right, a faint Mercury can be seen. Appropriately, as we approach Valentine's Day, the intellect planet is sinking while the romance planet is rising. Saturn is visible all night and Jupiter is up before dawn. Now, I dare not complete this night sky guide without making a pronunciation point. The letter “a” in the following planet is either an “ah” as in guard or an “a” as in gas. It is never 'a' as in 'hay'. OK? If you look below Venus with strong binoculars, you may see the rings around Uranus. (In the southern hemisphere Uranus is to the left of Venus) |
SATURDAY February 10 Mercury changes direction Mercury, the communication planet, will change direction later this week. Again. Two or three times a year, for two or three weeks at a time, we all encounter the inconvenience of this cosmic influence. It impedes communication. Delays travel. Creates confusion. Energises argument. Makes for misunderstanding. And often introduces economic unease, too. Why? What have we all done to deserve this periodic imposition? Actually, it is a blessing in disguise. Without it, some things would happen too fast. In this overly rash and hasty world, there would be even less reflection and review. Whatever you are planning or are caught up in now, here is a precious chance to slow things down while you really think them properly through. |
