Pluto in Capricorn
I have said a lot, recently, about Pluto in Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius etc. I should stress that when a planet spends more than a decade in any zodiac sign, it loses ALL relevance or meaning in terms of individual, zodiac astrology. No serious astrologer says Capricorns are in for a dozen years of good, bad or challenging luck because Pluto is in their sign. We look at the planet, modified by the nature of the sign it is in, as a social influence, affecting ALL of us equally... regardless of when we were born.

Astrology, Germany and WW2
On November 2, 1939, an astrologer called Karl Krafft wrote to Himmler's assistant, warning of an attempt on Hitler's life. Days later, an explosion in Munich just missed the Fuhrer. The letter was remembered. Krafft was arrested. Once freed, Krafft was hired by Goebbels to put a pro-Nazi spin on the prophecies of Nostradamus. Though Krafft continued to make accurate predictions he fell out of favour. Nonetheless, there was indeed a time when (as widely reported yesterday) it would have been wise for the British to hire an astrologer to tell them what the Germans were being told...

The secret life of Pluto
Pluto, Lord of the Underworld. King of all things hidden, disguised, denied and suppressed. Guardian of secrets. Governor of dangerous desires and irrational passions. No wonder we don't want to know about him in our modern, tidy world, full of shallow frippery. No wonder our scientists have been so keen to demote and disempower this primeval planet. In Capricorn, the earth sign, Pluto will dig up whatever has been buried, literally and metaphorically. It may bring volcanoes or earthquakes, but it will also bring their emotional equivalents. Dark histories that must now be exposed and brought to the surface.

Saturn on show
Each evening this weekend after sunset, you can see Saturn shining in the East. Just above is Regulus, brightest star in the constellation of Leo. Saturn, though, is in the zodiac sign of Virgo. (Many people are surprised to discover that the signs and the constellations are not exactly the same and that some of the stars have individual meanings.) Regulus has long been associated with royalty - in particular younger regal figures. Saturn, which governs the passage of time and the onset of maturity, only comes close to this star once every three decades or so.

Your Weekend
Have you noticed how time seems to be speeding up? Days fly by, weeks roll into one another, even years seem to be over in months. People often put this down to 'getting older'. It is true that adults perceive time differently to children. Still, though, it seems there is more than that going on. Of course, we can't prove it. If such a thing is happening, it is happening to everyone in the same way, at the same speed. Last month, Pluto moved into a new sector of the sky; one that traditionally governs 'time.' Perhaps we are finally about to discover ways to slow down... and speed up the merry-go-round of life.
