PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY
May 12 2008 to May 18 2008

Monday May 12
|
We remain betwixt and between two full moons in the same sign. This is unusual and powerful. At such times, though, it is always difficult to be sure of what's really going on. Big decisions may seem indisputable and irreversible, but they can somehow be revisited, challenged and changed. Minor developments, regardless of how irrelevant they may appear, can have implications of enormous consequence. On the stage of the world's theatre, major dramas will soon be played out. The eventual outcomes of these scenes and scenarios, though, may yet turn out be radically different from those intended or expected. By the way, Jonathan now has a 'MySpace' page...! Predicting
|
I recently predicted more earthquakes and, I seem to recall, other kinds of natural disaster. I can't tell you how frustrating it feels to foresee something like this yet be unable to say precisely when or where. Of all the changes I wish for the world, one of my dearest dreams is that academics would stop deliberately trying to disprove divination. If researchers could only be a little more open-minded, they might be able to lend their sophisticated powers of analysis to the work of the clairvoyant community. Then, we might start making prophecies accurate enough to save lives. By the way, Jonathan now has a 'MySpace' page...! Wednesday May 14

In 2006, at St James Park, London, a pelican ate a pigeon. Witnesses watched in horror as it held the bird in its beak before swallowing it live. Last month, in New South Wales, Australia, a pelican flew into a fighter jet, forcing an emergency landing and causing great damage. This week, in Florida, a house-cleaner from Ohio was enjoying a holiday swim when she was hit in the face by a kamikaze pelican with such force that she needed 25 stitches. Pelicans traditionally symbolise self-sacrifice. Perhaps it's all a reflection on the selfish state of the modern world. By the way, Jonathan now has a 'MySpace' page...! Hadron Collider
|
Remember the 'Hadron Collider' being assembled by scientists in Switzerland? It was due to be ready about now but has been held up... again. The experiment could teach us about subatomic particles, the nature of time... and the shape of space. Or it may just cause the earth to explode. Happily, not all the experts agree about this. Some just suspect the collider could help make time travel possible. Perhaps that's why the project's managers are relaxed. Once it works, they can go back to whenever they got delayed, avoid the problem and, hey presto, finish it on time! By the way, Jonathan now has a 'MySpace' page...! Friday May 16
|
Dear Jonathan, Like you, I find it upsetting that so many modern academics have such rigid, linear mentality. In Russia there is a narrow but strong current of official scientists studying and experimenting with paranormal phenomena of all kinds. Olga
Dear Jonathan, I am an academic, a scientist no less. I read your recent piece about wishing for research to help make predictions more accurate. If you really need help, I'm offering it. Oliver
Dear Jonathan, Before world-changing events many people have intuitive dreams. The Arlington Institute are attempting to record and monitor such hunches on the internet. Liz

Your Weekend
|
This time last month the Moon was full in Scorpio. It is about to be full in Scorpio again. That's unusual. Normally, there is only one Full Moon in each sign, each year. Even when there are double Full Moons, they happen in different sectors of the sky. For us all, this is a week during which decisions can be revisited and plans can be changed. If there's something you want to consolidate and confirm, here's your chance. But if there's something you would rather back out of or step away from, you will find that this option is equally attainable. By the way, Jonathan now has a 'MySpace' page...!
