PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY September 13 2010 to September 19 2010 Monday September 13 Gosh Not Tosh Dear Jonathan, From the way you answer some readers questions, I have a feeling that you yourself think astrology is tosh and that whatever we want out of our futures we can achieve with our minds. AJ Dear AJ, I do, indeed, think that the power of the mind is at least as strong as the power of the sky. But I definitely don't think astrology is tosh. It's just that having spent three long decades 'wandering around' a vast storehouse of traditional astrological theory... I have developed doubts about some of the items on some of those shelves! Tuesday September 14 Dear Jonathan, My son, a Libran, was born while Mercury was retrograde. Could this be why he has such a hard time making up his mind, or is that because he's a Libran? Carolyn Dear Carolyn, It's possibly because he's a Libran! It's certainly not because he was born under a retrograde Mercury. I must declare an interest here. I too, was born under a retrograde Mercury. It's hard to be objective about yourself, but I don't think it has hampered my powers of observation or made me indecisive. Unless, I suppose, it has done but I haven't noticed... Wednesday September 15 Astro-twin Hi Jonathan, I met my almost identical astro-twin about three years ago. We were born on the same day, about 150 miles apart. We are the same height, weight and shoe size. We met almost fifty years after, and 1,000 miles away from, where we were born. We ended up living a mile from each other, shopping at the same stores, using the same shoe repairer and having our prescriptions made up by the same pharmacist. It even turned out we went every day at the same time, to the same coffee shop. She's black; I'm white. Thursday September 16 Astro-twins Jonathan, My childhood friend and I were both born November 20, 1960, three hours apart. We were always similar in clothes, food, music, even the months we were married in (we were both married twice). We lost touch and recently reconnected after 20 years. We're still similar! Both our children were born in the same months. We even have the same haircut. Cindy Hi Jonathan, I was born on September 13, 1971, as was Stella McCartney. Unfortunately, there the similarities end. She's a successful designer with a jet-set style life. I'm not. I don't believe in 'astro-twins'. At the back of my mind there is always a doubt around this troubling connection. Mary Hi Jonathan, Catherine Zeta Jones and I were born just 24 hours apart. There are many differences between us. Jupiter's conjunction to Uranus, this week, is a promise that all who seek higher understanding may yet find it.
