PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY November 28 2011 to December 4 2011 Monday November 28 Mercury Forgetrograde Mercury is the communication planet. Whenever it begins to look, from Spaceship Earth, as if Mercury is reversing through the sky, astrologers expect delays or difficulties in the exchange of information. Towards the end of last week I got so excited about the eclipse that I forgot to mention that Mercury was turning retrograde. Which was, I suppose, a very 'Mercury retrograde' thing to do! I mentioned it in some individual forecasts, but I ought really to have said something in this space. I'll make it up to you tomorrow, by explaining how best to benefit from this phenomenon. Tuesday November 29 Retro Perspective Last week, in this space, I forgot to mention that Mercury was turning retrograde. Yesterday, I explained how this omission in itself, was a classic example of Mercury retrograde. But I did factor it into my predictions and I built some of my personal plans around it. I lined up all the projects and plans that had stalled in recent months... and arranged meetings or took action. Already there's been progress. When, as now, the communication planet is apparently retracing its steps, it's an ideal time to go back over old ground and clear up misunderstandings from the past. Wednesday November 30 Reboot Refute Dear Jonathan, Two days before 11.11.11, I finally realised my relationship had no future. On 11.11.11, I met a new man. I feel emotionally stable again. I think I can say I've rebooted my emotional life... Marijke Hi Jonathan, You asked for stories about 11.11.11. I had not spoken to my son since last April, when we had a bit of a misunderstanding. On that day, I impulsively sent him a message! It all backfired, though. He was not in the same frame of mind and replied very defensively. Mel Dear Mel, Maybe so. But at least you communicated. Thursday December 1 Pause and Harmony I want to share more letters today, about 11.11.11 - including one from Dale who asks 'Why is everybody still insisting on using outdated & ineffectual terminology like 'praying for peace'? Peace implies that there is a winner and therefore a 'loser' and nobody likes to lose! Harmony implies everyone working together!' A reader called Rosemary, meanwhile, says, 'I recently noticed that the symbol for 'pause' on my tape recorder and computer looks a lot like the number 11. I take Dale's point and I'm rather taken with Rosemary's. Events in my own life on 11.11.11, certainly gave me pause for thought! Friday December 2 Antique Magique Dear Jonathan, On 11.11.11 we were in a small antique store around 11 o'clock. A very elderly lady was tending the shop for her daughter. We chatted. She told us she is 96! She recalled how, when she was a child people discussed World War One all the time... A sweet, lovely lady, and a former nurse. I thought how coincidental that we should happen upon someone who was alive at the time most now think of as ancient history. I didn't exactly encounter a chance to 'reboot my life' but I did find it kind of magical. Ann Saturday December 3 Your December Monthly Forecast December begins with Uranus, Jupiter and Mercury all seemingly slipping backwards. It then brings a powerful eclipse of the Moon. We can expect more stress than the usual, pre-holiday season tension. Problems with transport, commerce and communication may surface. Dramas in our personal lives may also intensify. But by Christmas, that eclipse will be long forgotten and those planets no longer retrograde. When we look back, we'll see that 2011 was the truly tough time for the world. 2012 for all its reputation, is going to be surprisingly good for almost all of us.
