I'll do it again this year if I get enough requests. I am also often asked what to get for someone who wants to learn more about zodiac. I strongly recommend 'The Secret Language Of Astrology' by Roy Gillett (published by Watkins). It is well written, beautifully presented and I wish I could have read it when I was starting out. And if you want to treat a more experienced astrologer to a thought- provoking Christmas, get them 'The Dawning' by Terry MacKinnell (published by Xlibris). Tuesday December 6 Attitude Platitude Hi Jonathan, I was working on 11.11.11 so was unable to join a meditation group - but I did feel something subtle around 11.11am. That evening, I broke up with my fiance, with whom I had been arguing a lot. Later we met, and agreed we could no longer be together and hugged goodbye. The emotional intensity of that hug showed us both how much love was still between us and that the only thing we had to change was our attitudes. I feel absolutely blessed to have the opportunity to save my five-year relationship and reboot my life. Vanessa Wednesday December 7 Africandle Dear Jonathan, On 11.11.11, people packed in cars with marimbas and tonga drums made their way out of Harare to the lion and cheetah park. Children, gogos (grandmas) musicians and film-makers set up beneath massive boulders of rock and msasa trees. Time in Africa runs at its own pace, but we managed to film the lighting of a candle and call upon our ancestors at precisely 11.11am. We celebrated the date, the time, the power of numbers and the quest for love and harmony. Zebras and eland stayed close to our group, eating pods and seeds. Odette. Thursday December 8 Moonless Xmas The Moon is already pretty big. By the weekend, it will be full. Then, it will begin to wane until, by December 24, it is invisible to us all, giving us a Christmas under the Dark of the Moon. That's evocative, as is the eclipse that can be seen from some parts of the world on Saturday. Despite the worrying stories we keep coming across in the news and all the uncertainty and insecurity these give rise to. We are entitled to think of these times as very special and encouraging. Look for hope now, and you'll find it. Friday December 9 A Hole New World News has reached us, this week, of two black holes, each 10 billion times larger than the Sun. We also now know that there's a planet in distant space, remarkably like the Earth, orbiting a not dissimilar star. Closer to home this weekend, we can expect a Full Moon, visible as an eclipse from some places, plus the end of a Uranian retrograde phase. Soon, the planet of innovation and revolution turns 'direct'. That bodes well for anyone who seeks freedom from what has begun to feel like an emotional black hole... or who wants to create 'another world'. Saturday December 10 Your Week Ahead This week begins with a lunar eclipse, suggesting the chance to conquer a fear. It also brings the end of two 'retrograde phases'. Mercury and Uranus have been apparently slipping backwards through the zodiac for some while. As they start moving in 'the right direction', we should gain a greater sense of progress, an increased ability to create positive change and an improved ability to communicate and negotiate. Different signs will feel the influence in different ways but we all can expect a week when the long, drawn out stories of our year move faster towards a pleasing conclusion.
