Funny Valentine
|
Happy Valentine's Day. Is that a prediction or a salutation? Neither. It's a statement of potential. You can have a happy day even if you're not doing anything remotely romantic. Even if you're in a stressful relationship or feel rejected or dejected. You can come out of all that and remember that Valentine's Day is not defined by some cosmic force... but by a group of greeting card manufacturers and florists, cashing in on a minor religious festival. That said, in each forecast today, you'll find a quotation from a 'great romantic' born under the same sign as you!

Clumsy Clocks
|
Hello Jonathan,
I was born on February 29. Are leap year babies different? Cathie
Dear Cathie,
Not really. We just live in a world where time is measured with a clumsy, old-fashioned calendar. The Earth rotates once every 23 hours, 56 minutes and four seconds. If we stopped rounding this number up, we'd all get a birthday every year. Our computers and digital watches are easily capable of counting time properly. I often wonder why we don't reprogram them. Maybe it's because those missing minutes add up to nearly half an hour a week. We're all permanently jetlagged!

Pressing Temptation
|
Hello Jonathan,
I've stopped watches (both mechanical and electronic) in moments of intense emotion. My mum thought she had had the same effect on the cooker clock. Then she realised it was because she was inadvertently leaning on the Time Reset button. Gillian
Dear Gillian,
More, soon, on strange electrical phenomena. Meanwhile, your mum's story reminds me that I once lived in a house where the cooker had a button marked 'end time'. I remember thinking how odd it was that it had turned up in my kitchen. Happily, despite feeling tempted once of twice, I never pressed it!

Hi-Energy
|
Dear Jonathan,
I recently told you how my DVD player turns itself on when I am angry. Yesterday, I was standing in line at the bank, in a peaceful good mood, quietly humming to myself. Before too long, the gentleman in front of me started to whistle, and the woman behind me took a step closer. When I looked over my shoulder at her she gave me a very warm smile. It occurred to me that I was emanating the same energy. It's just that when it is very strong it turns on DVD players and blows light bulbs. Craig

Light Work
|
Hi Jonathan, I seldom lose my temper, but recently I was very upset on the telephone. As I shouted, a string of Christmas lights across my window flashed and burned out all at once. Deborah Jonathan, I train people to control their 'abilities' by teaching them how to focus mental energy. Instead of blowing out lamps, people can repair burned out bulbs and charge batteries. One way people discover they have this power is when street lamps turn off as they walk under them, then go back on when they pass. I use this as a training exercise. Roger

Your Week Ahead
|
This week brings a lovely triple conjunction of Mercury, Mars and Neptune. It all takes place at the exact, opposite degree to the Full Moon that culminated just before the weekend. That's powerful, as is the upcoming right angle between Jupiter and Pluto. It all speaks of breaking barriers, collapsing power structures, confused conflicts and tensions that rise up, seemingly from nowhere, explode wildly and then vanish, almost without trace. Watch for that on the 'collective stage of consciousness' (i.e. the news) and watch for it too, in your own life. And don't worry. It's nothing to fear.
