PREVIOUS THOUGHTS FOR THE DAY March 18 2013 to March 24 2013 Monday March 18 Light Works Dear Jonathan, I'm fairly open-minded about the paranormal. I dream about places, then suddenly find myself there months later but I was surprised to see the discussion on Street Light Interference. I never knew there was a name for it. It has been happening to me since I was a child. It's not any particular type of street light, either. It happens on side streets and highways. Maybe because I work afternoons, I'm out late more often than others and so I see it more often. But I like to think it's my magnetic personality coming out! Mary Tuesday March 19 Time Twins Since I revealed how Pope Francis and Tommy Steele are time twins (both born December 17, 1936) Elisa has written in. 'My ex-husband was born December 17. He's an abusive know all.' I wrote back to stress how time twins must share a date and year of birth, not just a day and month. Helen, meanwhile, wrote: 'I was born on the same day and year as a sporting star who has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Am I doomed?' To her, I explained that time twins aren't interchangeable. They just have superficial similarities! Wednesday March 20 Superpower Hi Jonathan, Whilst reading your recent piece about people who can seemingly start fires with some unconscious, supernatural power, I realised I seem to have a talent for breaking heating systems particularly when I am stressed. In 2011, during the four weeks prior to moving out of my flat the heating system broke. Within two days of moving into the new place the heating system broke. And in the last six months, I have had to have heating engineers out six times. After I finished reading, I went to flick the kettle on and the electricity tripped! Sari Thursday March 21 Opportunity Equinox When people want to de-clutter their lives they often say they are 'spring cleaning.' The phrase has come about because such urges are often felt at the onset of spring. And I have noticed very similar impulses arising at the start of autumn, which, astrologically, would make perfect sense. Today marks the autumn equinox for those in the Southern Hemisphere, the spring equinox for people in the northern half of the planet. Either way, it is the moment when the centre of the Sun is in the same plane as our equator and it brings an opportunity to 'rebalance.' Friday March 22 Equinox Around this time of year (and again in late September) night and day are of roughly equal length. That's why we call it the equinox. The term comes from the Latin words aequus (equal) and nox (night). Now, here's the geeky bit. An equinox occurs when the tilt of the Earth's axis is neither inclined away from the Sun nor towards it and the centre of the Sun is in the same plane as the Earth's equator. But of course, you knew that already! At the equinox, we all get the chance to realign our priorities and reach new understandings. Saturday March 23 Your Week Ahead This week's Full Moon is unusual. The Sun is now forming a conjunction to Venus, Mars and Uranus. And though astronomers don't care so much for Pluto these days, it still means a lot to astrologers. We're excited because the Full Moon forms a right angle to this celestial body. But some of us may be getting too excited. One of my colleagues has called it a Monster Moon. I keep getting emails from her readers, asking if I agree with her prophecies of doom. I don't. It will be an intense week but not a bad one for anyone!
