Super Duper Moon!

This is an auspicious day. We won't be bathing under the light of a regular Full Moon tonight. This is a Supermoon. And it's not any old Supermoon either, It's the closest a Full Moon has been to planet Earth this century... and the closest it will come until 2034. So what does it portend? A Full Moon signifies an opportunity for fulfilment. It's a time to listen, understand, realise an objective, and complete a project. Does this super Supermoon guarantee success? No. But it brings a wonderful opportunity to find it.

The Supermoon's energy doesn't just disappear with the morning light. Rather than waning with the dawn, it lingers for a while. And, with Mercury making an encouraging link to Mars today, now's the time to put any insight gained into practice. It's time to put your plans into action and bring your ideas to life. The Moon's energy is supporting you. It's offering you the helping hand you need to take the next step. Mars and Mercury are just giving you a gentle nudge in the right direction.

Hi Oscar,
I read that the Ascendant is the most important part of the natal chart. Could you clarify how the Sun, Moon, and Ascendant relate to our character? Donna
Hi Donna,
What's more important, taste, temperature or texture? They're all key elements in making a dish taste good. Although the Ascendant possibly reveals the most personal part of us, it's only one of the ingredients. The Ascendant is how we see, the Moon how we feel and the Sun how we act. And they're all part of the same pie!

There's an important Neptune-themed event on the horizon. Tomorrow, Mercury makes a dynamic square to the planet of dreams, imagination and spirituality, and on Saturday, Venus forms an encouraging sextile with it. Then Neptune, in retrograde motion since June, turns direct. With Mercury's insight, we may be able to see through an illusion that has been a source of confusion. And Venus's influence asks us to notice that sometimes an imagined falsehood contains more wisdom than a naked fact.

With Neptune turning direct this weekend, I'm reminded of the importance of perspective. When wandering through a maze, it's easy to become lost. All the hedgerows look the same and there are no signs pointing out the correct path. Yet, if you were tall enough to see over the hedge, all confusion would lift. And if you were raised higher still, the conundrum might even become fun! Life is giving you a leg up this weekend. As the ruler of Pisces, in its own sign, moves forward again, so can we.

Your Week Ahead

It may only be November, but perhaps we should begin thinking about the year ahead. After all it is already time to celebrate Thanksgiving in America: a moment to look back and appreciate the blessings of the past twelve months. Yet, an astrologer's job is to look at the future. This week, Jupiter makes a tense square with Venus and Pluto, as they become conjunct. It's the first of three major Jupiter-Pluto transits. The others form a significant part of 2017's story and suggest an era of metamorphosis, growth, and the exploration of power.
