Stag Night

I was watching a documentary featuring a proud stag, majestically displayed against the backdrop of a silver moon. But, it turned out that it was a programme about hunting. The commentary described how the hunter found it so beautiful that he wanted to have the stag as a trophy. Venus's recent return to the sign of Libra was juxtaposed with Mercury's opposition to Uranus. One promoted harmony and balance; the other a stark change of mind. Try not to flip between extremes today.

Hidden Jewels

As Jupiter changed signs last week, and moved into Scorpio for the first time in twelve years, it brought an opportunity to explore our personal darkness, and allow hidden aspects of ourselves to rise to the surface. Since Jupiter stays in Scorpio for just over a year, this will be a gradual process. There are jewels hidden deep inside us all. As Mercury moves signs, and conjuncts Jupiter tomorrow, we might find that answers come sooner than we'd imagined. They might not, though, always be what we expect.

New Moon Soon

We're moving into the 'dark of the moon'. As our silvery companion disappears behind the night's velvet curtain, it aligns exactly with the Sun and becomes new tomorrow. This is a time of new beginnings, and marks a chance to make changes. And as the Moon and Sun also align opposite Uranus, even though we associate the Moon with the night, this moment represents something of an awakening. There's no need, though, to lose any sleep over what really will turn out for the best.

New Moon

'Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad,' said Prometheus. The Greek titan is best known for rebelling against the gods, stealing fire from Mount Olympus and gifting it to humanity. In astrology, the archetype he represents is linked to the planet Uranus. As Uranus combines with Neptune's dreamy nature to influence the New Moon, should we fear destruction and madness? Visionary change is just as likely and far more preferable. Let's ensure we work towards that instead.

Venus and Mars
|

Mars, the planet that galvanises energy and power moves into Libra this weekend. At the beginning of the week we talked about how Venus' presence, in this sign, promotes harmony. Now Mars is joining it there, we might start to feel a little impatient about how long that's taking to materialise. A sense of injustice can trigger anger and unhappiness. But it's far more useful when it's used as a spur for action. It's time to concentrate on potential - and bring about positive change.

Your Week Ahead

'I'm feeling Scorpionic, Give me a gin and tonic'. Perhaps I've misheard that Oasis lyric! But, it seems appropriate this week as the Sun enters Scorpio and forms a link with Jupiter soon after. It's all systems go for the zodiac's eighth sign who may well be 'feeling supersonic'. And although the rest of our lives might not reach those speeds, the planetary activity could yet prove to be a very welcome tonic indeed.
