New Moon

Although the Moon, in Libra, might look as if it's disappearing, it never completely vanishes. Enough sunlight is always reflected back from its surface to make it faintly visible - at least with the right equipment. So it's sort of invisible, but sort of visible too. Either way, we'll certainly feel the effect of the New Moon as it renews its cycle and beckons us towards a fairer future. Yet as Venus continues retrograde, pulling our focus to the past, a duality must be acknowledged. Compromise really can lead to progress.

Fairs Fair

Even though his motives may not always be altruistic, my young son desperately wants everything to be fair. He seems to know the importance of sharing mainly because it guarantees him a turn with other kids' toys! It's not easy to explain how being fair sometimes requires being comfortable with less. As the Libran New Moon arrives today, we're all being encouraged to take a new approach in order to see justice prevail. Of course, the hardest thing is being prepared to give, if we really want to receive.

The Secret of Success
|

Mercury enters Scorpio today and moves opposite Uranus. So that's the planet of ideas and ingenuity entering the home of research and deep insight, and coming face-to-face with the bringer of breakthroughs and revolutionary change. There! You have the astrological building blocks. Why not take control and construct your own forecast? In some ways, life now asks the same question of us all. We may receive blueprints or divine instruction, but if there really is a secret to success, here comes a chance to discover it.

Favouritism

As my wife was putting our four-year-old to bed recently, she told him: "you're my favourite person in the whole world. And Daddy's my second favourite." He replied: "You're MY favourite person Mummy. And Daddy's friend Graham is my second favourite." Luckily, after some negotiation, my wife secured me equal top-billing, proving the old adage about friends in high places! Following Mercury's opposition with Uranus, retrograde Venus' link with Mars means there's no need to accept opening offers today.

When In Rome
|

|
Julius Caesar wasn't assassinated as he marched triumphantly across Europe. He was back in Rome debating, prevaricating and attempting to gain ever greater dominance; which shows that, sometimes, we're at our most vulnerable when we're consolidating, rather than conquering. As the creative, aspirational Sun links with machiavellian shadowy Pluto today, it brings potential for paralysis from fear or doubt. Yet the more we lead from the front this weekend, the less we may find we need to watch our backs.

Your Week Ahead
|

From Shakespeare to soap opera; when two people are attracted to each other, they're often portrayed doing ridiculous things, or not making sense as their words come out wrong. We describe pillow talk between lovers as whispered sweet-nothings. But life doesn't always imitate art. As Mercury converges with retrograde Venus this week, it's less about tongues tripping and more about hearts missing beats. It's time to focus on what we desire, rather than how we express our wishes. A way to find satisfaction is appearing.

Remember, your Love Forecast today does not just cover romance. A love forecast may also have something to say about your family life, your closest friendships and even some of your most important working relationships.
