Swimming With The Tide

As Mercury, the planet of communication, prepares to leave Scorpio, there are a couple more days of suspicion and intrigue to deal with. There's also a chance to bring contentious issues to a close and let the chips fall where they may. That doesn't mean simply letting go of the tiller, with eyes closed and hoping for the best. We need to react to events as they unfold. Rather than being like the king who tried to fight against the tide, when the guiding currents are this strong, working with them will gain far greater success.

Hi Oscar, I'm a Gemini and work with a Scorpio and Pisces. Do we make a good working combination? Thanks, Genna
Hi Genna, Scorpio and Pisces are imaginative and emotional water signs. Gemini and Pisces are 'mutable', which means they're flexible and co-operative. Scorpio's desire for secrecy and Gemini's inquisitive nature suggests potential for tension. But your Gemini analytical skills are just what's required. If your reasoning fails, their intuition will get you out of trouble! Oscar

Promises Promises

The last time Mercury re-entered Sagittarius it converged with its ruler, lucky Jupiter. But the excitement and optimism surrounding Jupiter's arrival in its own sign inspired ideas and grand visions that have proved hard to live up to - especially with Mercury's retrograde motion forcing a return to some familiar drawing boards. Now, as Mercury moves forwards and enters Sagittarius again, luck is more likely to hold. Favourable conditions suggest that it can now deliver on some of those earlier promises.

The Power of the Planet of Love

The tense relationship between Uranus and Neptune, two attention-grabbing planets, peaks this weekend. Although we're feeling the tremors of this dynamic alignment, I want to draw attention to its astral neighbour, Venus. As glamorously dramatic as the outer planets' relationship may be, we'd do well not to underestimate the subtle power wielded by the planet of love. It's providing creative solutions to complex, problems, and allowing unlikely alliances to thrive. If challenges loom large, listen to your heart.

A Price Worth Paying

This weekend, the ongoing saga between Uranus and Neptune takes another dramatic twist. Both planets represent endings and change; although Neptune, the Water God, flows seamlessly from one to another, while Uranus, the revolutionary, disrupts as it ushers in the new. In some ways it's a relief to know that if Uranus starts a metaphorical fire, Neptune can put it out. Since this is the penultimate peak of their two-year relationship, we just need to ensure that the sacrifices we make for progress are a price worth paying.

Imagine your delight if you were to arrive on the high street only to find that the hordes of shoppers had suddenly scattered like a disturbed flock of birds. Yet, isn't making our way through the crowds part of what Christmas is all about? Uranus and Neptune's relationship might not be easy this weekend, but that doesn't mean we can't profit from its influence to achieve a satisfying result. As we move towards the powerful Solstice Full Moon, it provides the wake-up call we need to put a creative cat amongst the pigeons.
