A New Understanding

Saturn, the cosmic teacher, can be a bit of a roadblock at the best of times. This week, as it slows to a standstill, it brings situations that create reason for much-needed pause. This is bound to be unsettling; especially since energetic Mars has been so active this weekend. But as long as feelings of frustrations are managed, these enforced times of reflection will lead to new understanding. So instead of butting our heads against these walls, we're better off using them to productively redirect our energy.

Stick or Twist
|

Mercury simultaneously aligns with active, exhilarating Mars and sedentary Saturn tomorrow. It's a combination of celestial energies which makes it difficult to know whether to stick or twist. While the relationship with Mars is gently encouraging, Saturn's influence is likely to be more draconian. So, if looking for advice about how to play life's hand of cards, it depends on whether the motivating factors are in the shape of carrots or sticks. Either way, long-term plans need to be at the forefront of our minds.

Winds of Change
|

We've talked about restrictions and pauses this week. That's thanks to Saturn, in many ways the anchor onboard the great cosmic ship, as it slows before changing direction. The celestial signs suggest that this cease of motion will bring a moment of calm before a storm of activity begins when two of the solar systems' heavyweights, Uranus and Neptune, make the last in a series of rare alignments that won't be repeated for over a century. It's time to finally accept that the winds have changed, and follow a new course.

The Power of Opportunity
|

Today, Uranus and Neptune form the last alignment in a tense relationship which has moved in and out of focus since August 2017. Combined with the darkness created as the Moon disappears ahead of the weekend's Taurean New Moon, it's time to be seduced by potential visionary change. This isn't just the end of a difficult process. It's the beginning of a new, exciting adventure. If we adopt a less fearful approach to the unknown, we'll be motivated to use the power of this opportunity.

Trying Something New
|

We're being asked to try something new; to explore tastes and sensations that once seemed unappealing. The Taurean New Moon encourages a visionary approach and Mars' move opposite Jupiter whets our appetite for adventure, bringing a desire to broaden horizons and pursue unspoken dreams. But it's not always easy to know the difference between a wild goose chase and a noble quest. This weekend, rather than just trusting in intuition, there will be evidence revealing the wisest course of action.

Your Week Ahead

They say that only fools rush in. But then, they also say 'no guts, no glory'. The truth lies somewhere in between. Mars' opposition with Jupiter stokes a desire to boldly make grand gestures. But Mercury and Uranus bring a reminder that it's never too late for a change of tactics. It's important to act courageously and in good faith this week. Even though inescapable situations may necessitate changes, fear can't be allowed to dictate the terms. With determination, and a good sprinkling of realism, ambitions can be realised.
