Bridge to the Future

In the last days of 2019, many of us are thinking back over the last 12 months, and wondering what 2020 has in store. Mercury entered Capricorn at the weekend, and today, it harmonises with iconoclastic Uranus; so it's a good time to be considering how we can do things differently and make a clean break from some difficult issues. But, if we want our ideas to stand the test of time, we need to focus on building the future, rather than simply tearing down the past.

Happy New Year

It's New Year's Eve! Time for fireworks, charged glasses, holding hands, and singing to mark another passage around the Sun. But as the world parties tonight, it's important to focus on the people we're celebrating with. Pleasingly, Mercury makes a creative link with Neptune, helping us find innovative ways to relate to one another. Be it sensitive words, or an imaginative idea communicated with compassion, the celestial invitation is to be in good company, and see out the year in style.

Happy New Year! In many places around the world, today is a holiday. And it looks like the cosmos is taking a break too! None of the major planets are making any significant alignments today. Does that mean I get to put my feet up too? Not really! The energy shining down from the heavens doesn't just switch off like a light bulb. As Mercury prepares to converge with Jupiter tomorrow, we need to keep an open mind and be alert to the opportunities 2020 brings our way.

Joining the Dots

Astrology is very predictable; computers can plot planetary movements for thousands of years to come. That's the easy part, though. It's understanding and predicting the significance of the movements that brings the challenge! But today, according to my calculations, Mercury's convergence with Jupiter is on my side. This is a great time for connecting the dots within big issues, making plans, and giving names to grand visions. The more we understand today, the better our adventures will fare.

All Mouth and No Trousers

Yesterday, we talked about making plans and considering the bigger picture. But with Mars becoming more gung-ho as it enters adventurous Sagittarius, we can't afford to be all mouth and no trousers! Theories are all well and good, but it's important to put ideas into practice and plans into action. With Uranus slowing to turn direct, we'll soon be entering a period when all the planets are moving forwards and we can bring about real change. Until then, we just need to think before we act.

As a guitar-obsessed kid I loved the Guns 'N' Roses album Appetite For Destruction. Like the wildest of rock-band parties, there's a TV-through-the-hotel-window feeling about Mars in Sagittarius at the start of the New Year. Expect a spring in your step and an appetite for adventure as we head towards the Lunar Eclipse. When we play hard, we risk breaking a few metaphorical guitar strings; great achievements require sacrifice. Yet under this cosmic climate, we can all feel like rock stars!
