Breaking Records

'Fish gotta swim. Bird gotta eat'. In order for us to survive, we have to consume other life forms, be it flora or fauna. As the power planet Mars settles into its celestial home, is it a case of dog eat dog and survival of the fittest? Pluto, the planet of survival, is reconverging with Jupiter, the zodiac's bastion of optimism and generosity. So this is not only a time for breaking records and getting ahead of the competition. We're being encouraged to dig deep and strive for a personal best.

Are lab-grown hamburgers vegetarian? Perhaps it depends how good they are! As a lifelong meat-dodger, I'm tempted to base my opinion on my taste buds! Today's Jupiter/Pluto link strikes a balance between principle and guile, promoting powerful opportunities for growth. Yet Saturn's imminent return to Capricorn redefines the boundaries we fear to cross. To quote Fawlty Towers, 'what the eye doesn't see, the chef gets away with'. It's time to discover the wisdom of hidden transformation.

Stable Foundations

Although Pluto's influence is sometimes thought of as taboo, Jupiter represents justice and morality; so as the two reconverge today, although we can advance our own causes, we must do so for the right reasons. That's not to say there's anything wrong with benefiting from the exploration of hidden opportunities. But Saturn's return to Capricorn insists any transformations must be sensible investments of energy. This is an opportunity to build stable foundations for worthwhile success.

Lessons From the Past

Retrograde Mercury converged with the Sun yesterday and remains close enough to strongly influence the weekend's Lunar Eclipse. Along with Saturn's recent return to Capricorn, the celestial message highlights the importance of learning lessons from the past; if not, we risk being doomed to repeat them. As Uranus supports the Full Moon it brings the confidence to find innovative ways to break troublesome cycles. With careful application we can create the structure needed for success.

Seeds of Change

Gardeners rejoice when it rains following drought. Although weeds (as well as their crops) will benefit, they accept the need to work to transform the dry ground into a lush paradise. We've talked recently about the positivity offered by Jupiter and Pluto's reconvergence; but we must steel ourselves against the regrowth of certain fears or worries too. Fortunately the Lunar Eclipse brings awareness and optimism. We can sow the seeds of positive change this Independence Day weekend.

It won't just be fireworks making the sky magical this weekend. As well as it being Independence Day in the US, we have a Lunar Eclipse supported by revolutionary Uranus. And, with Mercury moving backwards it seems appropriate to be thinking about the past. Yet retrospection is valuable only when it provides inspiration for the future. Fortunately, Mercury's link with Mars later this week provides the motivation to act on new insight. We can take great strides forward now.
