Handbrake Turn

Although we've talked about taking the handbrake off, we haven't talked about the length of the journey being undertaken. I certainly don't want to encourage any dangerous driving, but it's important not to delay taking actions we've been struggling to initiate. Rather than being rash, the cosmos encourages us to challenge our procrastinations. Opportunities don't wait around. Getting from metaphorical A to B will be more worthwhile than waiting to attempt the whole alphabet in one go.

Bread Winners

Today is Homemade Bread Day. Sometimes life is like a loaf of bread. We knead the dough, shape it, prove it and watch it rise in the oven, but just when we think we've made something delicious, it sinks. Yet baking disappointments don't mean culinary disasters. In Tuscany, delicious Panzanella is made from inedible bread soaked with tomatoes, onions, garlic, cucumbers, olive oil and basil. Should life not work out as planned today, something satisfying can still be concocted.

Use Your Loaf

Yeast-erday, all my troubles seemed so far away'. Sorry to start with a terrible 'pane', er, I mean 'pun'! But it was Homemade Bread Day yesterday and I couldn't resist. The song seems appropriate for other reasons too. In less than a month, strict Saturn re-enters the sign of society and friendship, as it did last March. Does this mean more uncomfortable restrictions? Saturn isn't the Great Teacher for nothing. We can avoid old problems resurfacing if we build on what we've learnt.

House Hunting
|

Saturn makes its presence felt as, in a tense relationship with Venus, it links encouragingly to the Sun. That's like meeting an accountant while house-hunting at today's prices. What we want, and what's affordable, aren't always in the same ballpark; but restricted resources don't automatically thwart ambitions. We can still take decisive action to help realise our goals. By working with purpose, and by focusing on the future rather than the present, we can make a little go a long way.

Biden's Birthday
|

It's Joe Biden's birthday. He's Scorpio with a Sagittarian ascendant opposite Uranus. Will this make him a good President? Er... 'good', in politics, is subjective! He probably won't be as radical as some might like - or others may fear. There's a chance he'll be remembered for what he doesn't do, rather than what he does. Yet as Venus moves into his birth sign and the Sun moves into his rising sign, there's no holding back. We'll all feel more free to reveal and enjoy what makes us special.

Your Weekly Horoscope

'The heart wants what the heart wants, or else it does not care'. These words, by Emily Dickinson, help explain why powerful emotions are often blamed for our misdemeanours. As Venus enters secretive Scorpio before opposing innovative Uranus, motivating factors will be hard to work out. But not understanding something (or someone) doesn't mean nefarious forces are at work. The Sun's move into Sagittarius encourages the exploration of new horizons, but only if our motives are true.
