Feeling Lucky?

Clint Eastwood made a career as a leading man who didn't speak much. But then you'd hardly expect 'the man with no name' to be a talker! We could all do with being a bit more 'Eastwood' at the moment; his classic character was known for what he did, rather than what he said. That's not to say that we need to talk less, or not get involved in having fun. But, as the Sun links with Mercury (communication), and Mars (action) trines with dreamy Neptune, if we want to be taken seriously, we'll need to turn ideas into action.

St Andrew's Day

It's St Andrew's Day, when Scotland remembers its proud history and looks towards a bright future. Edinburgh regularly hosts the world's largest arts festival, which as someone whose other love is music, I've had the pleasure of attending many times. Even though it's not the festival season, with Venus and Mars linking to Neptune, creativity, flair and imagination are in the air. Not just in Caledonia, but wherever we are, compromises may be required, but under these cosmic influences, it's time to realise grand visions.

Dream into Action

After five months of slipping backwards through the sky, Neptune begins travelling forwards today. Its change of direction takes place as it also makes supportive links to Venus and Mars. Together these powerful alignments encourage us to dare to dream once more. As we approach the Solar Eclipse in adventurous Sagittarius, we're encouraged to move ahead with bold ideas and find new imaginative ways to progress. Not everything we hope for will come to pass. But efforts made now will bring long-term success.

Lockdowns have given us an insight into what it's like to be so famous that you're effectively trapped in your own home. It's easy to see how 'celebrity' affects people's mental health. No matter how big your Beverly Hills mansion, feeling free is essential to our wellbeing. As Britney celebrates her first birthday free from the restraints of conservatorship today, there will be challenges on the road to autonomy. The coming Solar Eclipse brings the energy to follow new directions and have fun.

Total Eclipse

This is the weekend when many people begin putting up their festive decorations. But, even though I'm not a rapper, nor married to Beyonce, I like to imagine that, like Jay-Z (who celebrates his birthday tomorrow), my household holds out on putting the tree up until family birthday celebrations are done. My son has a December birthday too. This weekend however, birthday or no, the Total Eclipse gives us all extra reasons to get creative and have fun. It's a sign of powerful renewal. Let the celebrations begin!

Your Weekly Horoscope

This weekend's Eclipse is unusual. Normally, the path of totality moves from East to West but, due to its proximity to the South Pole, as any cosmologically minded penguins will notice, this one moves in reverse. Yet we don't need feathery tuxedos to have something to squawk about. And we needn't worry about having to back-pedal either. A sense of adventure and purpose takes hold this week. If we can be pragmatic too, there's no telling how far we can go under this encouraging astrological climate.
