New Growth

The Total Solar Eclipse encouraged us to plant seeds for new growth in our lives. Now Mars links with Pluto and Jupiter, to supply us with cosmic fertiliser. There's a need to hurry up and get growing! But even though the pressure's on, and there's a sense of urgency, we can't abandon principles in pursuit of our goals. Appropriately, following World Soil Day, there's a strong emphasis on allowing things to happen organically. It's by encouragement, rather than using force, that transformations can take place.

Speed of Change

A century ago, the notion of hopping on a plane and, within a few hours, be sipping margaritas in a completely different climate was a remote fantasy. Airships had only just begun crossing the Atlantic, and it took several days to make that journey. Now (pandemic restrictions permitting) we can go to sleep on one continent and wake up in another. Extraordinary changes happen within relatively short spaces of time. Today's Mercury/Neptune link suggests crazy ideas aren't as fanciful as they seem.

High and Mighty
|

Is it possible to be high and mighty in a way that doesn't seem superior? Can we make a point without labouring it? And how do we stay grounded when we're attempting to set an example and improve ourselves and the lives of those around us? These are the challenges we face as Mars, Jupiter and Saturn combine and inspire us to campaign for higher causes. Staying humble and down to earth is key to success. No one gets it right all the time. But we can get it right just enough to make tangible progress now.

Shuffle Off

Adele has made headlines by removing 'shuffle' from her album on Spotify. It's perhaps the greatest demonstration of pop-star power since Apple downloaded U2's music on to everyone's iPods, whether they wanted it or not! Is it another example of status being used to manipulate and control? Or should artists be allowed to shape the way their work is experienced? Either way, as Venus slows with Pluto whispering in her ear this weekend, by re-examining the past, we can find creative ways to reveal hidden talents.

Human Rights
|

|
Today in 1948, the UN established a set of Human Rights to protect the dignity and equality of all people across the world. And while the interpretation of these values sometimes proves controversial, no one can argue against the right of every person to be free from fear - and to love and be loved, without hiding who they are. This weekend, as Venus, slows to turn retrograde and begins a long relationship with Pluto, we'll be surprised by new depths of feeling. We need never be ashamed of what's in our hearts.

Your Weekly Horoscope

The annual convergence between Venus and Pluto is usually a brief flirtation. But this year, as Venus slows to turn retrograde, the two planets lock in a drawn-out embrace. Their union uncovers desires that might otherwise remain buried. Combined with the Sun-Neptune link, and Mars entering Sagittarius, it will be tempting to indulge in outlandish fantasies. And Mercury's move into Capricorn adds sensibility to the sensuality. As long as we consider what we're committing to, we can follow our hearts and explore our feelings.
