Supermoon Coming

This weekend Muslims celebrated Eid al-Adha in memory of Abraham's son being spared from sacrifice. Although the identity of the child differs, the same story exists in the Judeo-Christian tradition. The main difference, is that in the Islamic story the son was informed and willing to submit to God's will. In more mundane matters, as the approaching Supermoon converges with Pluto, there's no obligation to surrender control in relationships. If we dig deep, we'll find more that unites us than divides us.

Start Rolling

Back when the Beatles first started performing in the 1960s, crowds would scream so loud the band couldn't hear their guitar amps. Eventually they gave up performing live. Meanwhile, the Rolling Stones, whose first performed today in 1962, had a more cool, aloof crowd, and rarely stopped touring. As the Supermoon brings heightened emotions, there's something to be said for practising restraint. By applying some self-discipline now, something beautiful can be allowed to happen

Buddha's First Teachings

Today is Asalha Puja, the festival that celebrates Buddha's first teachings about exploring inner space. It's also the birthday of Harrison Ford and Patrick Stewart, two actors renowned for their journeys into outer space. But, whether this day is more holy or Hollywood, the Supermoon asks us to listen to our feelings. Although living by logic isn't fulfilling, handing control over to emotions isn't the wisest path either. Uranus' involvement promises a breakthrough realisation that changes things for the better.

Freedom!

Before the Supermoon's arrival, we talked about Venus' link with Saturn and the importance of respecting emotional boundaries. And while that's still relevant, it's not an excuse to wall ourselves away from feelings that seem too intense to handle. We all have the right to repel unwanted advances. But we can't keep our hearts in castles. Sometimes, like the Bastille in Paris, a defensive fortress can become a prison of our own making. As Venus and Neptune align today, freedom of expression could be revolutionary.

Rosetta Stone

Today in 1799, the Rosetta Stone was unearthed in Egypt. The same text appeared in Egyptian and Greek, allowing the hieroglyphic symbols alongside to be translated - although interpretations often differ! My cousin Jemima, Jonathan's daughter, has begun journeying into professional astrology. I'm excited to see the path she'll carve for herself in this field of arcane knowledge. And, as the Sun and Mercury link this weekend, deciphering ethereal messages into empowering information will be easier to do.

Your Weekly Horoscope

Just having faith, and trusting that everything will be okay, isn't always enough. Sometimes we need to be the change we wish to see, and take action to support our vision for the future. This week, as Saturn and Jupiter challenge us in an echo of 2020's Great Conjunction, it's time to define and defend our values. As the Sun and Mercury converge and enter charismatic Leo, charm, passion and generosity are the qualities that will be most effective. Where our hearts lead, others will follow.
